Sigrid Debusschere was born in Ghent and lives near Brussels, Belgium.  
After university and spending years in the marketing department of multinational companies, she finally left the corporate world in 2010 to follow photography and graphic design at the art academy.

Sigrid enjoys the freedom of wandering in the streets, but also likes to work on projects documenting daily life.

Sigrid is the director and curator of the Brussels Street Photography Festival (BSPF) and co-curator for Women Street Photographers (WSP).
She started making street portrait series in black and white and in 2015 she had a successful solo exhibition of ‘Street Portraits’ in Belgium.  
Since 2016 she has been several times a finalist in contests organized by Women Street Photographers, Miami Street Photography Festival, Women in Street, Head On Photo Festival, PhotoPlace Gallery, ICP NYC, Italian Street Photo Festival, Dublin Street Photography Festival, BreedBeeld, ...

In 2019 she won First Prize at the Maastricht Photo Festival and in 2024 Second Prize at the Vivian Maier International Photo Competition. Her work has been exhibited worldwide and published in international magazines and photobooks.

She had a solo exhibition ‘Hidden Magic’ touring in Belgium in 17 locations, Jan 2022 - Oct 2023.
